In my experience, some men are superficial and shallow like the Botkin Sisters protray - but many are not. I was self-concious about my weight and worried about attracting a guy in my teens and early twenties. What helped me was that I looked around at the store I worked at and realized there was no correlation between weight and marital status - or weight and happiness. There did seem to be a correlation between happiness and marital status - but it was that people who were happy with themselves seemed more likely to get married at some point in their lives. Added bonus: If you are happy in your life, you are not missing out even if you never marry!

NatureLoverhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11431801349592342650noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3627300702021032288.post-80342356049583511202018-02-08T21:38:08.625-05:002018-02-08T21:38:08.625-05:00Right!? Talk about a recipe for disaster - poor young girls who have enough anxiety about what boys think about them... honestly :( JMBhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04693543051311216884noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3627300702021032288.post-19591092874885960062018-02-08T21:37:02.485-05:002018-02-08T21:37:02.485-05:00Thank you for this great review! WHen I read this ...Thank you for this great review! WHen I read this book as an obese, self-conscience, and post-verbal-abuse-relationship 16 year old it made me feel like trash because I wasn't this, this or this. And that all men were thinking this, this and this about me, and because of this, my lifelong dream of marrying and raising a family was a joke.... yep. Sorry but... what a dumb book! :S JMBhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04693543051311216884noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3627300702021032288.post-86791241092996840702017-12-03T10:45:13.320-05:002017-12-03T10:45:13.320-05:00What's depressing to me is that the Botkin Sis...What's depressing to me is that the Botkin Sisters must believe this idea is true - so what does that say about the men they know?NatureLoverhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11431801349592342650noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3627300702021032288.post-30761104944927938592017-12-02T19:11:33.931-05:002017-12-02T19:11:33.931-05:00What's really disgusting is the idea, REPEATED...What's really disgusting is the idea, REPEATED throughout the book, that men are somehow psychic and can see right away whether we're lazy, virtuous, hardworking, or secretly attracted to them. And if we're attracted to them they just HATE that! The summation of men in this book is disgusting.Jennyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04905272108326085380noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3627300702021032288.post-86440672322261901252017-02-17T01:07:12.311-05:002017-02-17T01:07:12.311-05:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12151054502712085370noreply@blogger.com
